Pelipper is the cornerstone of the rain strategy, immediately summoning Drizzle on entry to activate the entire rain core. Focus Sash guarantees it survives at least one hit to set weather or use Tailwind. Wide Guard protects the team from spread moves like Rock Slide, a common threat in the format. Weather Ball becomes Water-type in rain and pairs with Hurricane's boosted accuracy to punish opponents switching into Pelipper. Tailwind doubles team speed for three turns, enabling otherwise slower team members to outpace top-tier threats. Modest with maxed SpA and Speed makes its own attacks meaningful.
