Mega Ampharos / Mega Gengar Rain Perish

DoublesRegulation Set M-A

Synergy

Pelipper sets rain immediately with Drizzle, boosting Palafin's Water-type moves and enabling Weather Ball on Pelipper itself. Mega Ampharos sits at a mid-speed tier (113) that lets it function both inside and outside Trick Room, pivoting with Volt Switch to maintain momentum. Mega Gengar provides a late-game Perish Song close-out when the opponent is down to two Pokemon, while Sinistcha and Incineroar provide redirection, Intimidate, and Trick Room as flexible speed control.

Win Conditions

Set rain with Pelipper and deal chip damage via Palafin's Jet Punch priority and Wave Crash. Volt Switch pivot with Ampharos to keep pressure. Close out end-game 2v2 scenarios with Mega Gengar's Perish Song under Substitute protection.

Lead Options

Ampharos + Palafin, Pelipper + Palafin, Sinistcha + Pelipper

Threats

Strong Trick Room teams can negate the rain-and-speed offense. Bulky Grass-types resist both rain-boosted Water moves and Ampharos's Dragon Pulse. Sand or Sun teams can override the rain and remove Pelipper's Weather Ball value.
