Choice Scarf Gholdengo is a surprise speed-control piece that outruns threats most teams don't expect to be scarfed, pressuring Whimsicott and Flutter Mane style cores immediately. Good as Gold makes it immune to the Spore, Taunt, and Trick Room support that would otherwise slow this team down. Modest over Timid trades a speed tier for extra damage, since the goal is pressuring the field into Blaziken and Meowscarada range rather than simply outspeeding. Power Gem covers Charizard, Focus Blast is the emergency Kingambit answer, and the small Defense investment helps it survive an incoming Sucker Punch.
