Mega Blastoise is the team's flex slot for matchups where Gardevoir's Fairy typing or Hyper Voice spread is unfavorable. Water Spout deals massive spread damage at full health, Aura Sphere provides reliable Fighting coverage, and Water Pulse offers a secondary Water move. The author repeatedly expressed doubt about this slot, noting Mega Blastoise is not very strong in practice and recommending alternatives that offer spread damage and work under Tailwind. This slot is marked for replacement and should be considered a work in progress.
