Basculegion's Choice Scarf lets it move first without needing Tailwind, making it a strong lead alongside Garchomp when the team wants to be oppressive rather than set up the Charm plan. Adaptability doubles its same-type damage, so Wave Crash and Last Respects hit extremely hard even locked into one move at a time. Jolly with max Attack and Speed makes it one of the fastest attackers on the team, and Flip Turn keeps momentum once its target is dealt with.
