Mega Charizard Y / Sneasler Sun Offense
Doubles • Regulation Set M-A
Synergy
Winner of the first online VGC competition in Pokémon Champions. Mega Charizard Y sets Drought on Mega Evolution, powering up Heat Wave and enabling Venusaur's Chlorophyll to double its speed for fast Sleep Powder or heavy coverage. Incineroar cycles weather with Parting Shot and softens physical threats with Intimidate, letting Charizard safely re-enter. Sneasler activates Unburden via White Herb consumption or Intimidate-triggered defense drops for doubled speed, while Scarf Basculegion outspeeds key threats and threatens devastating Last Respects cleanup.
Win Conditions
Set sun via Mega Charizard Y and apply immediate spread pressure through Heat Wave + Earthquake pairings with Garchomp. Pivot through Incineroar and Basculegion to maintain sun control and momentum; close out games with Adaptability Last Respects once teammates have accumulated knockouts.
Lead Options
Charizard-Mega-Y + Garchomp, Charizard-Mega-Y + Sneasler, Charizard-Mega-Y + Venusaur, Incineroar + Charizard-Mega-Y, Basculegion-M + Charizard-Mega-Y
Threats
Weather competition is the primary concern. Tyranitar flips sun to sand and pressures the fire core, while opposing rain teams resist Heat Wave and hit the team hard. Charizard-Y is vulnerable to Rock Slide and opposing Charizard matchups. The team can struggle to recover if the weather war is lost in the early game.
