Pokémon Champions is Coming And GameCards.gg is Ready!
Your Ultimate Guide to Competitive Battling
The Game We’ve Been Waiting For
Pokémon Champions is set to revolutionize competitive Pokémon battling when it launches on April 8, 2026 for Nintendo Switch. This isn’t just another Pokémon game. It’s the official platform for the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, replacing Scarlet/Violet as the go to for ranked, casual, and private battles. Mobile versions for iOS and Android will follow later in 2026.
What’s New in Pokémon Champions?
- Ranked Battles: Climb the global ladder with skill based matchmaking. Your rank adjusts based on results, ensuring intense matchups against evenly matched Trainers under the Regulation M A ruleset.
- Casual & Private Battles: Experiment freely in Casual Battles, where wins and losses are not recorded, or use Room IDs in Private Battles to challenge friends and community groups.
- Tiered Challenge Modes: Face tiered battle challenges with rotating NPCs and Gym Leaders. For hardcore Trainers, a Nuzlocke style mode locks fainted Pokémon until a Tier Boss is defeated and restricts healing until you achieve 10 consecutive wins.
- Mega Evolution & The Omni Ring: Equip the all new Omni Ring, a universal conduit for legendary mechanics. Regulation M A marks the return of Mega Evolution as the primary strategic focus, featuring new threats like Mega Dragonite, Mega Meganium, and Mega Feraligatr.
- Double & Single Battles: Master both formats in all online modes, including the 4 vs 4 Double Battle standard officially used for the 2026 VGC World Championship circuit.
- Victory Points (VP): Earn the game’s primary currency through Ranked Battles, win or lose, to permanently recruit Pokémon and instantly customize their moves, abilities, and stat points. To maintain competitive integrity, VP cannot be directly purchased.
