Venusaur runs Acid Spray to drop Special Defense by two stages, enabling sun-boosted Fire Mane attacks from Mega Pyroar to KO targets they otherwise could not reach. Chlorophyll doubles Venusaur's speed in sun, letting it outspeed Basculegion and Mega Swampert even with a Modest nature. Modest nature with max Special Attack and Speed maximizes damage output. Energy Ball targets Water-types including Mega Swampert, and Sludge Bomb hits Floette and Fairy-types. Focus Sash provides insurance against opposing priority or fast attackers that threaten Venusaur before it can act.
