Torkoal is the team's weather anchor, summoning permanent sun with Drought on switch-in to boost all Fire moves and weaken Water attacks. Charcoal amplifies Eruption's base power further, making it a devastating spread move at full HP under sun. Heat Wave provides reliable Fire spread coverage when Eruption's power is reduced at lower HP. Sunny Day can restore sun if an opposing weather setter takes control. Quiet nature and 32 SpA SP maximize Eruption's output. Zero Speed SP lets Torkoal move first under Trick Room, and 2 Def SP adds minor physical bulk for surviving resisted hits from physical attackers.
