Kingambit serves as the team's answer to Intimidate-heavy metagame builds, punishing Incineroar and other Intimidate users with Defiant to gain Attack boosts when stats are lowered. Adamant nature with max HP (32 SP) and max Attack (32 SP) makes it both bulky and hard-hitting. Black Glasses boosts the power of Kowtow Cleave and Sucker Punch, its two Dark-type STAB moves, giving it priority in Sucker Punch for revenge killing. Iron Head rounds out the coverage set with Steel-type STAB, and Protect keeps it safe during unfavorable turns.
