Heliolisk's Dry Skin ability grants full immunity to Water-type moves, making it an automatic counter to male Basculegion's Water attacks. Focus Sash ensures it survives one hit to threaten a response. Ally Switch creates a positioning game against Basculegion: switching Heliolisk in absorbs a Water move while another Pokemon attacks freely. Focus Blast covers Steel types, particularly Hatterene and Kingambit, which Altaria and Sylveon cannot threaten. Modest nature with maximum Special Attack and Speed SP opts for raw damage over Timid, accepting that it underspeeds Charizard and base 100 targets. Typically kept in the back unless facing Blastoise.
