Mega Gyarados functions as the physical complement to Calm Mind Mega Floette, using Dragon Dance to set up sweeps and Waterfall as the primary STAB. Lash Out punishes the frequent Intimidate drops from opposing Incineroar or Arcanine, turning a drawback into burst damage. The Adamant nature with 15 Atk and 30 Spe SP lets it outspeed Adamant max-speed Basil Legion and Talonflame after one Dragon Dance. Intimidate in base form lets it enter defensively even without committing to Mega Evolution, covering sand-steel and Mega Gengar matchups that trouble Floette.
