Mega Gengar is the team's dedicated answer to Floette-based compositions that hard-counter Ampharos. Shadow Tag prevents opponents from switching out of Perish Song, forcing a controlled endgame countdown. This mode is situational: the player deploys it specifically when the rain or Trick Room game plan is unfavorable. Volt Switch on Ampharos and Protect on other slots create clean pivots into and out of the perish sequence.
