Modest nature with 29 Spe SP keeps it above key speed benchmarks so it outspeeds opposing threats even before boosting. The 17 SpA SP pushes damage output further. Protect synergizes with the redirection core, letting supports soak hits on the same turn. Preferred into matchups where Fairy is resisted and against Mega Gengar or Mega Charizard Y.
